1. Parking information for students who have already registered and received a confirmation and summit speakers:
Free parking
and shuttle service is available at the Shrine of the National Basilica. For details, directions, and to download the parking permit, visit
http://www.howard.edu/careerservices/Parking_and_Directions.pdf. The parking permit must be prominently displayed in your car window.


2. What is the Wealth & Wellness Summit™?
The Wealth & Wellness Summit™ is a one-day program, for all college students in the Greater Washington, DC area, to highlight best practices
for obtaining optimal wealth and wellness: make good choices to prepare for careers; building entrepreneurial efforts; getting fit and eating right;
maintaining health, positive relationships; and, alleviating depression and stress. The summit will be held at the Armour J. Blackburn Center on the
campus of Howard University in Washington, DC.


3. Who is participating in the summit?
Summit participants are undergraduate and graduate students from multiple schools in the Greater Washington, DC area, including collegians at
schools in Washington; Northern Virginia; Baltimore County, MD; Prince George's County, MD; Montgomery County, MD; Fairfax County, VA;
and other local area. Selected high school seniors will also attend the event, including the Superintendent’s Leadership Program (Montgomery
County, MD) and Gap Buster, Inc.


4. How is the summit program structured?
The summit will begin with an opening plenary session, led by national leaders in careers, entrepreneurship, financial planning, retirement
preparation, physical health, emotional and mental wellness, HIV/AIDS and STIs, and, personal relationships, who will provide an overview on
current issues impacting wealth and wellness, and a broad perspective on best practices for students.

Concurrent break out sessions allow for students to pursue strategies on specific wealth and wellness issues, including resumes, interviewing skills,
starting and growing a business, reducing stress and tension, domestic violence awareness, and personal safety. The closing plenary session will
highlight specific tasks for students to develop and implement their own Wealth & Wellness Action Plan. We will also announce the winner of the
DORM BY DESIGN™ 2012 contest – dorm and living makeover – during the summit.

The summit break is sponsored by
5 Hour Energy drink. The schedule is subject to change.


5. Who are some of the summit speakers?
Speakers include national and local leaders in wealth and wellness. Subject matter experts include the Howard University Center for Career
Education, Development & Research, the American Heart Association, Dress for Success – Washington, DC, Howard University officials, U.S.
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission,  Horizons, LLC, CommonHealth ACTION, and One Diaspora Group.


6. Can I enter the DORM BY DESIGN™ 2012 Contest without attending the summit?
Students who wish to enter the DORM BY DESIGN™ 2012 contest must register for and attend the Wealth & Wellness Summit™ and be
present when the winner is announced during the summit. For contest and eligibility rules, visit

7. Is there a fee for student participation?
